Previously, the company, specialising in repairing ships with capacities of 1,000 DWT and above, was inspected by the provincial Department of Natural Resources and Environment.

The department detected four violations by the company, including a lack of environmental impact assessment report, improper implementation of the environmental protection scheme, discharge of wastewater beyond technical standards, and failing to report on results of exploitation and water resource use.

The provincial authorities suspended the operations of the company for 12 months.

The company was required to complete the legal procedures for the environmental protection scheme soon.

When the environment scheme is approved by the provincial Department of Natural Resources and Environment, the company must fully comply with the commitments, including waste water treatment according to the permitted technical standards.
